Downloading Gentoo

Been downloading gentoo all night last night, but for some reason, the torrents appear to be slow though I have a 2 Mbps internet connection, and have managed to download only 2.7 GB of 3.5 GB in about 7 hours.

Having used Ubuntu for nearly a year, I think it is time to try out some other distros of Linux and figure out how they work. I am planning to install that on my laptop, and if a distro installs properly on that crappy piece of junk, assembled by Compaq with the cheapest of components, it will work anywhere.

There are a few bad reviews about Gentoo, that have been floating around the internet, such as it takes time to load, installation of packages are very slow and stuff like that.

Gentoo, for those of you who dont know, is a species of penguin, and since Linux uses a picture of a penguin as a logo, this distro was named Gentoo.
